I spent the long weekend trying very hard to organize my craft space. Now I do not sew too much but I do have a ton of notions and some simple sewing kits for mending that have been strewn everywhere for quite sometime. So a lovely lady name Brenda at my work gave me the basket below. Now it was cute but it was also Christmas and I really needed a cute basket for this project. Now don't worry she gave it to me to do whatever with so I wasn't like re-doing a gift or anything.
I decide to use burlap because I lurve!!! it!
I drew an extremely imperfect circle around the lid leaving about an inch around to hot glue under.
I then used my Cricut (Yay for Cricut's) and cute out this crown shape from the Home Decor cartridge and traced it and colored it in.
I wrote the word Notions in cursive beneath the crown and painted the baslet black and Voila! A cute new place for my sewing stuff! Happy DIY Day.
That's really cute. I like the crown and the handwritten Notions is the perfect finishing touch. I'm putting this into my idea book ... may have to copy you some day!

That turned out very cute! What a nice way to transform something that wasn't really working for ya :) (Have you priced out sewing baskets lately? They're ridiculously overpriced!) Oh, you make me really wish I had a Cricut! haha
